What's the deal with this bimonthly thing?
We know what you’re thinking…most subscription companies ship their boxes monthly. Yeah, we know. But we’re not like most subscription companies. Rather than do what everyone else is doing, we thought long and hard about what makes the best experience for YOU. And in doing that, we decided that sending a box every other month, or bimonthly, provides YOU the best experience. WHY?
Well, lots of reasons. But mainly because a month flies by (ask any lady, ever.) and before you know it, you’ve got boxes stacking up with things you never even got to try. We absolutely stuff our boxes to the brim and meticulously select every item that goes inside. We want you to have a chance to try everything and we want you to have the proper amount of time to do so (no one should be trying a new gel on race day - just sayin’) so we made the decision to ship boxes every other month.
I just ordered my subscription. When are my boxes coming?
When you place your order, our latest and greatest subscription box will ship to you right away. (95% of boxes ship within 1 business day) No starter box (code for “old stuff we didn’t sell”) like some other guys and gals do. That’s right, Monday-Friday we ship out boxes Every. Dang. Day. This has to do with that whole ‘relentless pursuit to give you the best experience’ thing we’re obsessed with. By shipping out every day, you will get your first box immediately and it will be our most current, up-to-date, hot off the press edition. Then exactly two months later your next box will ship and so on. For example, if you ordered on February 15th your first box would ship right away, then your next box would be headed to you on April 15th, then June 15th, etc. You might just wanna mark that day on your calendar to get ready for all the awesomeness that is headed your way!
Can I check when my next boxes are shipping?
Yep, yep! We’re all about transparency here, folx. We know that many of you get antsy waiting for your next box, so we've made sure you’ll be able to see your next shipment date from the My Subscriptions section of your account area.
How does your subscription billing work?
We offer three billing plans with different payment intervals. No matter which plan you choose, a box will ship to you every other month. The payment options allow you to: – Pay as each box ships – Pay for 6 months at a time – Pay for 1 year at a time The longer the period you pay upfront, the more money you save (and who wouldn’t want to save money?) All our plans auto-renew at the end of the billing period, but we’re not that company that hopes you forget you have a subscription and keeps charging you. We will ALWAYS notify you before upcoming renewals and you will ALWAYS have the option to cancel your subscription before it renews. We won’t take it personally. (Well maybe a little, but we’ll be OK.)
What if I want to change plans?
No problem. You can switch between subscription billing plans at any time. For example, if you order a pay-per-box subscription and then decide, - “I CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT THE RUNNERBOX!” - you can simply go to your My Account area and upgrade to the six-month or annual plan so you save money on every box.
What if I want to cancel my subscription? Can I cancel at any time?
You sure can! You always have full control over your subscription through your My Account area on our website.
If you purchased a subscription where you paid for boxes in advance and cancel before the end of your pre-paid period, cancellation won't affect anything you already paid for. You will still receive the boxes you paid for upfront, but your subscription will NOT renew after you receive your final shipment.
You can of course email us at any time at helpdesk@therunnerbox.com and we can take care of the cancellation for you as well.
Please note that once an order has shipped, it can not be canceled. If you cancel an order after it has shipped, we can not guarantee a full refund.
Do you offer gift cards for both subscriptions and single boxes?
Yes! You can buy a gift card to gift a single gift box or any prepaid subscription. The only thing you can't buy a gift card for is a pay per box subscription.
What’s the difference between buying someone a gift card and buying them a regular subscription?
When you buy someone a regular subscription, you will be managing it. What that means is you will select where it ships, have full admin access in your user account to make changes to shipping and billing information, receive all emails related to the billing and tracking of the subscription, and the power to decide how long the subscription lasts.
When you buy someone a gift card, they will set up the subscription themselves and have control over all the above-mentioned aspect
Can I purchase a gift card for someone that already has a subscription?
You can purchase a gift card for a single box like our birthday box. However, the system doesn't allow us to apply new gift cards to current subscriptions. We know, boo!
How does the recipient use the gift card?
They simply enter the gift card number they recieved via email during checkout and voila! - they've got some endurance awesomeness headed their way.
If I buy a gift card for a subscription, what happens when the period I bought the subscription for is over?
When the recipient goes to the website and redeems their gift card, they will be asked to enter their credit card details in case they would like the subscription to continue (and, hey, who wouldn’t want it to?) The first cycle of boxes (either 6 months or 1 year) will be covered by your gift card purchase and any boxes beyond that will be charged to the credit card the recipient puts on file. All our subscriptions auto-renew, but if the recipient does not want the subscription to continue after the period that the gift card covers, we make it incredibly easy to cancel any time before the subscription renews. If they’d like to continue receiving a running party in the mail, they simply let the subscription continue and the next cycle of boxes will be billed to the credit card they put on file.
If I buy a gift card for a subscription and the recipient chooses to continue, will my card be charged again?
Nope. When you buy a gift card you are paying only for the period of boxes you select (so, either 6 months or 1 year worth of boxes). When redeeming the gift card, the recipient will enter their own credit card details and if they wish to continue their subscription after the period that is covered by the gift card, their own credit card will be charged.
Will I receive an email confirmation for my gift card purchase(s)?
You sure will. We will send you an email confirmation of your purchase. You will also be able to select if you would like the recipient to receive the gift card via email, and what day you would like us to send it to them.
Can I use this gift card for a RunnerBox or a RiderBox?
Absolutely! Any of our gift cards can be used on any of our subscriptions. If you’re buying for a triathlete, duathlete, or someone who loves to run AND ride and you can’t decide which gift card to get – don’t stress – you can’t mess this one up. Whether you get The RunnerBox gift card or The RiderBox gift card, it will be valid for any 6-month or 1-year subscription from either brand
How long does it take for my order to arrive?
Our warehouse ships boxes daily Monday-Friday. If you order before 1PM EST your box will ship the same day. If you order after 1PM, it will ship out the next morning. If you order over the weekend, your box will ship on Monday.*
Delivery times vary based on where you live, but generally are between 2-5 business days once in transit. We ship from North Carolina, so the closer you are to there, the faster they will be!
If Ground shipping is just not fast enough for you, we also offer expedited delivery for $10 per box. Our expedited shipping service takes 2 business to deliver once in transit.
*There may be slight delays due to peak holiday rush or unforeseen circumstances, however 95% of our boxes ship out within 1 business-day. We observe all postal service holidays which can be found here.
What is the shipping cost?
We know Amazon says everything ships 2-day for free, but UPS laughed at us when we used that logic protesting our first invoice.
In order to stay in business, we charge a shipping fee of $4.95/box. However, if you order a six-month or 1-year subsription you save 40% on shipping and that bumps down to $2.95/box.
Orders ship from our warehouse within 1 business day of placing your order and ground shipping can take anywhere from 2-5 days to arrive from there. If you need your box faster than that, we offer expedited 2 day shipping for an additional $10. Boxes still ship within 1 business day from the time you place your order, but a guaranteed 2-day air service.
When shipping to the non-contiguous US (Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii, or US Armed Forces locations), shipping is $10/box.
I’m ordering as a gift and don’t want my box to ship yet. What should I do?
The best option here would be to purchase a digital gift card which can be sent any dang day you want it. The recipient will get an email with a lovely note saying how awesome you and this gift is and they will be able to redeem at their convenience.
What if I move? Can my box be shipped somewhere else?
Yes, of course! The shipping or billing address of your order can be changed at any time through your My Account area or by emailing helpdesk@therunnerbox.com. However, it is your responsibility to make the change or reach out to us at least 24 hours prior to your box’s shipment as it is nearly impossible for us to retrieve boxes sent to wrong addresses.
How will the gift recipient know who their box is from?
Our boxes are like flowers - if they come with no note, the recipient may rack their brain for hours wondering who got them something so thoughtful.
But do not fret, all subscription and gift box purchases have the option to include a gift note at checkout. Make sure if you're sending a box to someone else you fill out this section so they know who got them such an awesome present.
If this is a surprise, don’t worry, we won’t spill the beans! All shipping and subscription renewal emails will go to the billing email address. It will be up to you to forward this along if you want the recipient to have tracking. Or, if you’d prefer the recipient to have control of the subscription, you can always purchase a gift card and the recipient can set the subscription up themselves.
Although we won’t send the recipient tracking or billing information, we will use the subscription recipients’ email address to send them a bimonthly email full of tips, tricks, and discounts to go along with the contents they received in the box.

We're proud to say that our boxes ship from Asheville, NC. We work with a rockstar crew at Ernest, a full service 3PL and co-warehousing facility where the city's movers, shakers, and small business dreamers come together to make stuff happen.

Do you ship outside of the United States?
No. (Sigh.) Due to extremely high international shipping costs, we currently only ship within the United States.
We wish we could ship more places and are constantly expanding our coverage. We'll keep you in the loop as more regions become available.
How do I track my box?
We’ll send you an email with tracking as soon as your box ships and when it is delivered. If those emails slip into the abyss of your inbox (as they do), you can always track your box from your My Account area.
In the My Account Area under My Orders, click on the order in question and you'll see a track shipment button which you can select to find your box's exact whereabouts.
What is the difference between your subscription boxes and gifts?
Our subscription boxes are our, fresh off the production line, as hot as Beyonce’s new single, creations. They are seasonally relevant and include the absolute latest and greatest we’ve come across that you need to try. These boxes include a detailed listing of each of the items and how to use them along with subscriber exclusive discounts and how/where to get more. When you order a subscription, you will continue to receive a box every other month until you cancel.
Our gift options are one-time, non-recurring boxes that include brands or items that subscribers have told us are their most favorite-est. (Yes, in those words.) Gift boxes are an easy way to say Happy Birthday, Happy Holidays, Happy Racing, or I’m just happy to know you! (Please note, our gift boxes are always changing so the exact contents may be different than pictured)
If you want to gift a subscription you can either:
- Sign up for the subscription yourself and include the recipient’s shipping address. In this case, you will manage the subscription.
- Purchase a digital gift card that the recipient can use to set up the subscription themselves. In this case, the recipient will manage the subscription.
What type of products should I expect to receive in the box?
Our team relentlessly scours the planet looking for the best, most seasonally appropriate running-related items to include in each box. Products will vary with each delivery (we're not going to send you sunscreen in December), but will always include a mix of nutrition and sport specific accessories.
Since the endurance sports world is constantly changing, we can't say exactly what will arrive in each shipment, but we can guarantee that everything included was thoughtfully selected to help you Fuel Your Phenomenal. To learn more about the type of items you’ll receive, check out our What’s in the Box section on the homepage. The quick and dirty...you'll get 10-12 items valued at over $50. We know. It's a steal.
Are your boxes gluten free?
Sometimes! Since we only source nutritional products with clean ingredients, oftentimes the boxes are completely gluten free. Other times the boxes may have one to two items that contain gluten. We have several gluten-free subscribers who are able to enjoy the majority, if not all, of what arrives in their boxes. In the event something does contain gluten and you can't have it, give it to a friend and you just landed a new training buddy!
(This does not take into account products that may be produced in a facility that also processes products containing gluten. If you are that strict about the intolerance, we probably would steer clear from the boxes just in case)
Are your boxes vegan?
They are not. While many food items we include are vegan, our boxes are not fully vegan. However, many vegans enjoy our boxes because they include sport specific non-food items and - shoot - even if you use half the food items included, you’re still coming out ahead.
Plus, we bet you’ll make some great friends when you share all the yummy goodies you don’t eat yourself. If you’re looking for a strictly vegan box, try Vegan Cuts. It won’t include running specific items, but it does have good snacks!
How do I update the shipping address for my subscription?
This is an easy one. In the My Account area, go to My Subscriptions and click "Manage". Scroll down until you see Shipment Info and select edit. You can edit a current address or add a whole new one. Save it up, and that’s it. You’re done!
Keep in mind though, changes you make will only apply to future shipments. We haven’t figured out telepathy yet (we wish!) so if your box is already en route we can’t get into the UPS driver’s head to have them redirect it somewhere else.
How do I change/update my credit card info?
Another layup. Hit that "Manage" button next to your subscription and then on the right side near the bottom you'll see "Payment Method". Select "Edit" and you can choose to update an existing card or add a new card.
How do I cancel my subscription?
With a few clicks. No jumping through hoops, hidden cancellation buttons, or need to send us pictures and a 500 word essay. In your account, you'll see "My Subscriptions". From there, click the "Manage" button which will show you all the deets of your subscription. Scroll to the bottom and you'll see “Cancel Subscription” in big red letters. Click that and you're done. It’s that easy. (Seriously, we should make it harder.)
What is your return policy?
Defective products may be returned for replacement or refund up to 30 days from the order date. In the event that a refund is needed, please contact us at helpdesk@therunnerbox.com.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Only Bitcoin. Just kidding. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. All our payments are processed securely through Stripe, a world-leading payment system and we never see your credit card details.
Will the recipient of a gift card be required to pay anything?
The only time a recipient would be required to pay anything is if they choose to continue the subscription past the period that the gift card covers. In this case, the credit card they put on file would be charged for any boxes they receive beyond the period the gift card paid for.
I received a gift card. Why do I have to enter my credit card info when I purchase my subscription with it?
The gift card you received covers a specific period the gift giver chooses (this will either be 6 months or 1 year). Since all of our subscriptions auto-renew, we need a card on file in the event that you choose to let your subscription carry on past the period the gift card covers. However, we make it easy to cancel (seriously, we should make it harder) and you can do that any time before it renews. And don’t worry - we’ll send you several reminders before the subscription renews or your card is ever charged. We think you’ll love getting the boxes and want to continue, but we only want you to stick around if they are the right fit for you.
Do gift card purchases automatically result in the creation of a subscription?
Nope! Gift card purchases are one-off transactions. You will not be setting up a subscription for the sender or the recipient and no further charges will apply unless you choose to make additional purchases or start a subscription with us.
